The Art and Business of veterinary medicine is a 3rd and 4th year elective course which teaches practical business skills as well as self development, leadership, communication skills and client service.Students are taught about salary, contracts , negotiation, how to select a job and the value of good mentorship. They Prepare a Job cover letter, CV/Resume, and Budget for their first year out of school. They are also required to write a job contract.
The class is taught by Dr. Russak and nationally know outside experts and consultants. The course is supported financially by several industry partners including, Hills, Merial, Bayer, Pfizer, Veterinary Pet Insurance, and Live Oak Bank. This is the third year the course is offered.
