Since March 2009, several cases of human infection with swine influenza A (H1N1) viruses have been reported in the US and Mexico. People do not normally get swine flu, but human infections can and do happen. Read More....(pdf)

CVM Awards & Graduation April 29th

CVM Awards & Graduation ceremonies will be on Wednesday, April 29. The awards program will be held at 10 a.m. in the CVM Wise Center main auditorium. The graduation ceremony will be 2 p.m. at the Humphrey Coliseum. The reception will follow the ceremony at the CVM Wise Center in the 2nd floor Foyer. (Click on links for location)

Students teach, learn at annual CVM open house

MISSISSIPPI STATE – Mississippi State University veterinary students learn in the classroom and in the laboratory, but the real test comes when they add in the responsibility of staging the spring open house and teaching the public about animal care and welfare.

For more than two decades, MSU’s College of Veterinary Medicine has welcomed children and families to its annual open house. This year, the April 3-4 event was attended by 3,800 visitors.

CVM Runs Wild

As part of the Know Your Numbers/Run Wild program, Health Education and Wellness sponsored a Walk/Run event for all activity levels, Saturday April 4th. Participants chose between a 1 mile, 5k or 10k course. There was some participation and competition among CVM staff members. Veterinarian of the Year

Please join in congratulating Dr. Richard Hopper who was recently selected as Veterinarian of the Year by the Mississippi Veterinary Medical Association. This recognition was based on Dr. Hopper's sustained service through a career devoted to the veterinary profession, the public and veterinary medical education. Through his interactions across Mississippi, within MSU, and nationally primarily through the Theriognology specialty Dr. Hopper is a great representative of Mississippi State University and our CVM! Congratulations Dr. Hopper!
