CVM Holiday Donation Drive to benefit Safe Haven for Pets and Care Lodge

Thank you to everyone who has already donated to the holiday donation drive (happening now through December 11th) for Safe Haven for Pets and Care Lodge! The boxes have been filling up, and we are so excited about everyone who has participated so far. Photos are attached to this post for you to see just a sampling of the great donations that have come in so far, and more information about the donation drive and how you can help is below. A holiday donation drive, organized by some of our very own MSU-CVM students, is currently underway to benefit Safe Haven for Pets, a non-profit organization coordinated by Dr. Sharon Grace and Dr. Christine Bryan. Their mission is to ensure the women and children's pets are well taken care of while they seek shelter from domestic violence. Dr. Grace and Dr. Bryan work directly with Care Lodge Domestic Violence Shelter located in Meridian, MS. Currently Care Lodge is at maximum capacity and in great need. Many of the women and children enter the shelter with nothing. This is especially horrible at Christmas. We want to make their holiday season as joyous as possible by meeting their needs as well as ensuring they receive presents. • Donation boxes can be found here. If you have any questions or would like to help out personally, contact Samantha Storey or Amanda Cain: sds356@msstate.edu or acain@cvm.msstate.edu
throughout MSU-CVM (look for the cardboard boxes wrapped with festive gift wrap). Needed supplies are listed below. You can also pick up a list of needs at any donation site! Donations are being accepted through December 11. Care Lodge Needed Supplies: towels (new) washcloths shampoo & conditioner soap toothbrushes & toothpaste paper plates paper towels toilet paper diapers baby wipes dried food items (rice, beans, oatmeal, mac and cheese, etc.) canned food items (tuna, vegetables, etc.) • Keep up with us on Facebook! You can updates and photos on the donation drive
